Serve Our Community

Following the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 25, we believe that serving our neighbors is its own reward. We practice our faith by serving in a way that is not transactional (e.g. we don't expect anyone to believe what we believe, or participate in our church, in order to receive a gift from us).

Yarn Ministry

This ecumenical group of area knitters and crocheters meets Thursdays at 1:30pm from September to May. Prayer shawls, scarves, mittens, hats, afghans and baby/toddler items are given to organizations such as United Churches of Galena Food Pantry and Shelter Care Ministries in Rockford.

Our Immigrant Neighbors

Currently we are engaged in supporting immigrants in our area by offering “know your rights” trainings, by prayer, and by organizing a Rapid Response Team, if there is a need.
