Prayer

Centering Prayer

Grace hosts an ecumenical group that gathers on Zoom for contemplative prayer every Friday. We open our selves to the Holy Spirit using an ancient technique (Lectio Divina, or divine reading) and a more modern one (Centering Prayer).

Servants through Prayer

This group has made a commitment to pray through our church prayer list at least five times a week. We pray any time, from anywhere and are assured through scripture that God hears us. We are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding those on the list unless they have given permission to update their pogress to the congregation.

Meditation Garden

The garden is a place for quiet prayer and meditation, open to all in the community daily from dawn to dusk. It is located on the right side of the church as you face the front doors.

Morning and Evening Prayer

We pray the service of Morning Prayer together as a group on the third Wednesday, in our chapel, and when our priest is away on a Sunday.  But many of us also pray Morning and Evening Prayer daily, either with a prayer book or a resource such as the Venite app.

Compline

Compline, an ancient service going back to at least the sixth century, is a fitting way to end the day. As the final canonical office in the monastic day, it is very calming. We hold Compline every Tuesday night via Zoom.

Prayer Board

If you stop by our church building, on the front door you will see a prayer board. This is a chalkboard where anyone may write the first name of someone in need, or a place.  The prayer leader in our services takes these names and we pray aloud for them in our church services.

Daily Prayer

Many of us find meaningful the devotions of Forward Day by Day in electronic form or print booklets (available in Parish Hall).
